A Meditation: On 2 King 4:26 // All Is Well //

by Matheus Yuhlung

‘Run at once to meet her and say to her, ‘Is all well with you? Is all well with your husband? Is all well with the child?'” And she answered, “All is well.”’ – 2 King 4:26

Is not the faith of this woman admirable? Back at home she has a son dead; his corpse lying in the upper room. She didn’t throw any emotional tantrum. Calm was she when her husband inquired what the matter was that she had to visit the man of God at an unusual time of the year – her words were all is well.

When Gehazi met her half way and asked her anxiously ‘Is all well with you? Is all well with your husband? Is all well with the child?, then also was she calm and replied all is well. But the truth is, she was in a bitter distress from the inside – which the man of God saw; but yet she held her calm.

She was convinced that the God that gave her that child[1] was also the same God who could bring back life into that tiny body that lay dead back home. And as she believed, so did she received.

Dear reader – if you are going through a crisis today; I’d like to remind you that the God that brought you till here will also lead you through. Give not the devil a show; let him not have the best of you as you deserve the best – the best that is the king Himself. Have a little faith and you’d see yourself reigning through Him.
