A Meditation: On Genesis 6:8 // An Eye Of Faith //
by Matheus Yuhlung
But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD – Genesis 6:8
Matthew Henry wrote God looks down upon those with an eye of favour, who sincerely look up to him with an eye of faith. The Bible introduces Noah as a just man. Now if you asked who is a just man? According to Plato, it is he who does his duty aptly as he was meant to do.
Noah seems to have been well acquainted with the fact that he was made for God and God alone; hence he never cared to earn the favour of men around him rather he prioritize God first. This was his USP that ultimately helped him understand his election – who had found favour as quoted earlier because he was sincerely looking up to God with an eye of faith.
We live in a wicked world – let us not imbibe its ways to ruin us completely. And that is why Apostle Paul wrote and be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
