A Meditation: On Genesis 6:8 // An Eye Of Faith //

by Matheus Yuhlung

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD – Genesis 6:8

Matthew Henry wrote God looks down upon those with an eye of favour, who sincerely look up to him with an eye of faith. The Bible introduces Noah as a just man. Now if you asked who is a just man? According to Plato, it is he who does his duty aptly as he was meant to do.[1]

Noah seems to have been well acquainted with the fact that he was made for God and God alone; hence he never cared to earn the favour of men around him rather he prioritize God first. This was his USP[2] that ultimately helped him understand his election – who had found favour as quoted earlier because he was sincerely looking up to God with an eye of faith.

We live in a wicked world – let us not imbibe its ways to ruin us completely. And that is why Apostle Paul wrote and be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.[3]
