A Meditation: On Psalm 103:12 // Forgiven //
by Matheus Yuhlung
“As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us” – Psalm 103:12
Are you breathing now? Do you deserve that air that’s in your lungs? – No! You don’t. And to assure you let me tell you that I don’t deserve it either. Why? – Because we are sinners. The consequences of our sins should have consumed us long ago. But it hasn’t. Why? – Because God chose not to remember our sins.
The fact that we are breathing right now is a proof of His forgiveness so concrete that it should never make us forget the vastness of God’s grace. And if the supreme authority of both heaven and earth has forgiven you; know that satan holds no power to make you fearful of the consequences of your past either.
Through the blood of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ not only your past sins but your present and your future sins has also been taken cared of. Know that once you are in Christ; your past remains in the past, it no longer holds any power to affect your present anymore. May that be your bad decisions, curses, indulgence et cetera. In Christ you are a new creation. Live accordingly as the promise stands – As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
