A Meditation: On Psalm 86:11 // Do You Have An Undivided Heart //

by Matheus Yuhlung

“Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name” – Psalm 86:11

Is your heart divided into quarters; each allocated to some specific passions (or love or admirations et cetera) of yours? If we are to be the temple of God; we cannot ask Him to dwell in a place where sections of which have been already allotted to something else.

Have you ever come across a building which is a temple, a mosque and a church all at once? I hope not. It is imperative that we have a united, undivided heart that fears the name of the Lord. David’s prayer is very apt for all Christians who are longing to have a perfect communion with the Holy Spirit; without which Christianity has no essence at all.

Let us contemplate today on all possible things that might be a reason for now or the future that could bring disunification of our heart; exterminate all passions that can steal away the joy that comes with being in communion with the Holy Spirit. And when it gets too tough remind yourself of the troubles our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ went through just so that you could have an eternal life.
